Greetings from UM ARMY!
Our camp has approximately 120 people, 70 of whom are youth. Our camp is heavily junior high students and many first-time mission workers. As of Wednesday, we have completed four work sites, and we should reach about a dozen by the end of the week.
On Monday, one team arrived at their site, ready to build a wheelchair ramp only to find that one had already been built. It seems in the week since the last pre-site visit and Monday, another mission crew had come in and built a ramp. So, the disappointed team came back to the church to wait on a new assignment. The sites coordinator called a potential client to find that team a new site, and the client answered and explained that she had been praying the night before that God would fix her needs. She was overjoyed to hear that a team was coming out to build her a fence and be the answer to her prayer.
On Tuesday, an adorable group of children and their parents shyly took the stage during announcement time with a giant check. Christ UMC in College Station had a Vacation Bible School a few weeks ago, and they collected an offering for our camp. Their goal was to fund a wheelchair ramp in their local community. They ended up collecting enough money to fund three wheelchair ramps and donated another $800, which means they collected around $3,000 to help out those in their local community that are in need of home repairs.
UM ARMY is a great organization that connects people across generations. Please continue to keep the volunteers and their clients in your prayer as we do God's work in Bryan/College Station.
