Vacation Bible School is almost here! Yes, this is all I talk about right before VBS. My Facebook newsfeed timeline proves it from many years back. So far, we are expecting 18 children! This is amazing when you consider how many families moved during the pandemic, that we’ve had a year off in between in-person VBS’s, and that our numbers are similar to our last in-person VBS. Many of the families attending VBS this year are from our very own preschool, so this will be a great year of outreach. If you are unable to volunteer with us, I hope that you can attend the service on August 8th and watch the children sing their hearts out about some of our favorite Bible Verses.
We are still in need of some volunteers. Some of the areas of most need include a volunteer to cook chicken nuggets and French fries on Saturday and a volunteer to help with the videos during assembly. Aren’t comfortable being around people right now? Well, we need some volunteers to bring individual bags of chips, paper plates, napkins, plasticware, and cups. If you are able to help in any of these ways, or are able to volunteer to help out in-person for any of the days, please let me know. You can always sign up to volunteer here: https://www.graceintheheights.org/vbs.
I encourage you to pray for all of the children who will attend Vacation Bible School with us. The children of Grace Weekday have been learning the songs and stories all summer during Chapel time, and they really enjoy them. Pray that the stories of faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, David versus Goliath, Mary’s Journey to Bethlehem, Jesus walking on water, and Paul and Silas escaping from prison will teach children that they can find their strength in God. Pray that the theme verse, “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power” from Ephesians 6:10 will stick with them. Pray that everyone stays happy and healthy.
