There are several exciting ministry opportunities happening in the next week! Next Wednesday, October 2, the preschool children of Grace Weekday are invited to bring their stuffed animals to chapel to be blessed. The director even decided that they can wear their Halloween costumes, if they want, since that night is our next Messy Church. For Messy Church, we are having a Halloween related night where we focus on light instead of dark, and happiness instead of scariness. We will be learning how Jesus is the light of the world by making glow in the dark playdough, a hand-drawn circuit that lights up an LED light, and much more. These crafts will help us see that Jesus is the light of the world, and when we walk with him, we don’t have to walk in darkness. And non-scary costumes are welcome at Messy Church.
But that’s not all! Then on Sunday, October 6, we will invite the Grace kids to bring their stuffed animals to children’s time during worship to be blessed. And later that day, everyone can bring their live animals (or something like a collar that represents their animal) to be blessed at 2 PM in the Courtyard. We will be blessing Friends 4 Life that day, so if you are able to purchase any dog or cat food, we will donate it to the animal shelter down the street. And then the pumpkins come on Saturday, October 12 at 4 PM!
We will definitely have a busy month full of ministry opportunities. I hope you will join us for them.
