Greetings all in the name of Christ!
I don’t think there is a single person who will be surprised to read this: We are a United Methodist congregation. That, equally obvious, means that we’re affiliated with the United Methodist Church and all the stuff that goes along with it. Part of what goes along with being a United Methodist congregation means that we follow the rules of the Book of Discipline. The Book of Discipline mandates that we have an annual meeting called the Charge Conference to discuss the state of the church, approve budgets, hear the pastor’s vision for the next year, and get a report from the previous year. As such, I want to invite you to attend our charge conference!
Our Charge Conference will occur on September 21st at 10 AM in the Sanctuary. We will, of course, provide childcare for those who need it. Put it in on your calendar right now, and make plans to be there! I’d really like to have a strong showing as part of what you’ll hear are updates on our strategic planning for the campus, where the discernment team is in its exploration of joining the Reconciling Ministries Network, and how those two processes are intimately related.
This week in worship, we will continue our sermon series on the Toy Story Gospel by looking at my favorite of the four Toy Story movies: Toy Story 3. I hope you can join us!
Yours in Christ,
