Greetings all in the name of Christ!
My weekly message to you is to remind, invite & inform.
- I want to remind you that we have moved all our online giving to a new platform called Pushpay, which is widely used by churches to help manage financial gifts. Giving online is a convenient way to make your financial gifts to the church. If you sign up for recurring gifts (which I recommend), that means that even when you are out of town, sleeping in, or getting brunch, your gifts will still come through regularly - keeping your giving up to date! Pushpay also allows us to use text to give simply by texting graceumcheights to 77977. It’s very easy!
- Along with text to give and online giving, Pushpay has developed an app for Grace! I want to invite you to download it today. Go to the App Store or Google Play, and search for Grace Houston Heights. You’ll know you have the correct one when you see our blue thumbprint logo. You can use this app to give financially, take sermon notes, receive push notifications from the church, see our calendar, get information about Grace Weekday School, and much more. I hope you’ll download it soon!
- Lastly, I want to inform you about what we’ll be discussing in worship this week. We’ll continue our sermon series based on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. I spoke very briefly about this last week, but during a time when “thoughts & prayers” are viewed as a weak response by an increasingly skeptical nation, I believe it is even more important for us to be in prayer. This week, we’ll see what Jesus told us about prayer. How are we to do it? What action/response should we expect? Why is prayer an important action for people of faith to take part in? We’ll talk about that and much more on Sunday.
See you this week in the PRAYER IS KIND OF HARD place!
