Greetings all in the name of Christ!
We are approaching the end of this brief sermon series called, “Confronting Anger.” I’ve really enjoyed preaching it and thought the topic was important to cover so I hope you’ve heard something useful. This Sunday will be the last Sunday in this series and we’ll be discussing how we as Christians should deal with our anger. Thus far, we’ve heard a definition of anger (anger is a response to a threat), what the Bible says about anger (everything in creation was pronounced very good), and this week we’ll talk about what we should do about our anger. We all experience anger in one way or another and to varying degrees, but what should we do about it? This will be the focus of our discussion together on Sunday.
Looking forward, we’re starting Advent! The sermon series for our Advent season is entitled, “Making Room.” For the most part, our lives are filled with chaos, both in our work life and home life, and many of us tend to go from meeting to meeting almost on autopilot. However, it is important that we make room in our busy lives for the important parts of Advent lest the Christmas season will just fly by without us pausing to observe it. So, we’ll talk about making room for our neighbors, repentance, forgiveness, and stillness. Then, on Christmas Eve we’ll talk about making room in our lives for baby Jesus!
Advent is a busy time for the church and that means there are lots of important ministry and outreach opportunities. From Snow Day on December 1 from 3 pm – 5 pm to a special Lessons and Carols worship event on December 15 at 6 PM in the sanctuary to the Angel tree where you can buy presents for needy families, there is a lot to keep track of! I hope you can participate in all the extra opportunities as they will help make this Christmas season the best one yet here at Grace.
I can’t wait to see you in the ADVENT IS COMING place this Sunday.
Yours in Christ,
