Greetings all in the name of Christ!
Starting on Wednesday, March 6th we’ll be observing the season of Lent. Lent is a bit of a strange time in that we take 40 days (not including Sundays) to be intentional about remembering Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Worship will take on a slightly different timbre as we examine the last week of Christ’s life. The sermon series we’ll begin this Sunday March will be entitled, “The Seven Last Words.” In a similar series to our Advent sermon series, we’ll examine a different word each week during this high, holy season beginning with KNOW.
We’ll read Luke 23:32-38
, and talk about how just like all the characters that took part in Christ’s crucifixion we sometimes are completely ignorant of our actions. And yet, though some of the people who “know not what they do” were responsible for driving the nails into Christ’s flesh, he offers them forgiveness. How much more available is this grace and forgiveness to us almost 2,000 years later? We’ll discuss this and more in worship!
See you Sunday in the KNOWING place.
