Statement of Faith | There is but one living and true God, everlasting.
 |
The first century Christians found themselves at a crossroads. Because of their faith in Jesus, they were experiencing persecution and the destruction of everything they owned — their homes and belongings.
In this volatile and uncertain time, they began to waver... to question what they believed about Jesus and why they believed it. The book of Hebrews was written to this young, growing church to remind them that God is supreme and sufficient in all circumstances.
We, too, need to be reminded. Few of us will experience the loss of our lives or homes due to our faith, but just the same, we are tempted to drift away from our faith when difficulties arise.
There is but one living and true God, everlasting, without body or parts, of infinite power, wisdom, and goodness; the maker and preserver of all things, both visible and invisible. And in unity of this Godhead there are three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Christ did truly rise again from the dead, and took again his body, with all things appertaining to the perfection of man's nature, wherewith he ascended into heaven, and there sitteth until he return to judge all men at the last day. |
