Collin's Weekly Column: Jesus Said What?

Greetings all in the name of Christ!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Toy Story Gospel and I hope you did, too!  I listened to the sermon that our guest preacher, Daniel Scholl, preached on Sunday and it was excellent!  If you missed any of the sermons, they should be on the Grace UMC app this week!  If you haven’t yet downloaded it, please do so today!  Search "Grace Houston Heights" in your App Store.
This Sunday, we’ll start a new series called, “The Things We Wish Jesus Didn’t Say.”  We spent a great deal of time over the summer talking about how we are called to love like Jesus, and how that is an enormously difficult thing to do.  But, the love that Jesus showed those around him wasn’t always cupcakes and roses.  Sometimes, Jesus was filled with righteous or indignant anger.  We like to think of Jesus as this sort of soft-spoken character who moved slowly and was always gentle.  And while Jesus was far from a violent man, he was fully human!  That means that he experienced the full range of human emotions, including anger.  Over the next few weeks, we’ll look at the instances in Jesus’ life where he said particularly sharp words or took drastic action.  I’m looking forward to it, so I hope that you’ll make plans to join us every Sunday!
See you this week in the JESUS SAID WHAT?? place.
Yours in Christ,
