Greetings all in the name of Christ!
I’ve got good news to share regarding our stewardship campaign. We set a goal of raising $140,000 in pledges for 2021, and as of right now we have $139,784 committed! With that said, I believe that we’ll have several more pledges turned in which will bring us well clear of our goal, and will make 2021 the most successful stewardship campaign since I took over as pastor in July of 2014. We’ll be sharing some interesting statistics about our collective giving in the coming week. It is very exciting!
With that said, the Finance committee will continue to monitor our financial situation very closely because it remains very precarious. Even though we’ve met (and likely exceeded our) pledge goal, our budget still remains a deficit budget. However, I wanted to say thank you for your generosity. And if you haven’t turned a pledge card in, please do so ASAP! Here is the LINK to submit your pledge.
This week in worship, we’ll be examining the story of the Transfiguration. The Transfiguration is a strange story during which Jesus and a few of his Disciples climb a mountain and something happens to Jesus. He is transfigured. Ultimately, he was changed. And he was changed in a very significant way. We’ll talk about what that means to us here and now, and we’ll examine whether or not we can ourselves be transfigured - whether or not we can be changed. Can we choose to change or must we wait for it to happen to us? What would a transfigured Grace look like? If you’d like to read the scripture that we’ll focus on, click here.
I look forward to see you in WE CAN WEATHER CHANGE place.
Yours in Christ,
