Greetings all in the name of Christ!
This Sunday is a very special one in the life of our great church. It is Stewardship Sunday! Or, put another way, the day we turn in our pledge cards – the day we make concrete our promises to God and the church.
When you joined the church, you made a promise to be loyal to Grace in five ways – your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. By turning in your pledge card, you have the opportunity to show exactly in what ways you will fulfill those promises. I hope that you have received your pledge card in the mail. If you didn’t, please let me know ASAP so that we can fix that for you. Also, if you forget to bring your pledge card with you to worship, don’t worry because we’ll have plenty available for you in the pews.
In worship, we’ll also start a new sermon series called, “What would Jesus say…” and we’ll ask a number of questions of what Jesus might say to us if Jesus came back today. What would Jesus say to a divided nation? What would Jesus say about sexism and racism? What would Jesus say about the way we spend our time and money? I am really looking forward to this new series, and I hope that you are, too! Further, I hope that you can make it to church each and every Sunday.
See you this week in the WE DO THINGS ON PURPOSE place.
Yours in Christ,
