Greetings all in the name of Christ!
This weekend in worship, you’ll hear from the amazing Reverend Meredith Mills. She preached in my place earlier this year, and afterwards no one wanted to hear me again! She is that good. She’ll be continuing the Last Words sermon series by examining the word, “THIRST.” When she and I chatted about this last week, she got very excited so I know you’ll want to make an extra effort to be present to hear her bring the Word.
I want to also remind you that I’ll be participating in the Galveston 70.3 IRONMAN
Triathlon this weekend. While I am very nervous about it, I am also very ready for it. I am using this race as a platform to raise money. As such, I want to invite you to give a second-mile gift to the church so that we might raise some money for our Harvey House. For those of you who don’t know or have forgotten, in an attempt to ENGAGE IN COMMUNITY we have adopted the home of Ms. Davis who lives in Independence Heights. Her home was flooded during Harvey and hasn’t been touched since. To make this happen, we’ve partnered with Houston Responds
and Hope Disaster Recovery
to help fund this project, but we have access to 75% of the funds needed. Therefore, I’ve challenged us to raise $5,000 to be able to finish the project by sponsoring me PER MILE. The race is 70.3 mile long, so think about what you’d like to give and donate here
. In the memo section write, Collin’s Triathlon and we’ll make sure it goes to fund this great work. Already, we’ve raised over $1,000 so we are well on our way! Wish me luck and pray for me as I pray for you.
I hope you’ll be present this week in the THIRSTY place.
